Apprenticeship is a multi-disciplinary paid training program run in business establishments across Punjab. Apprentices receive On-The-Job Training (OJT) at business establishments and Institutional / Off-The-Job Training at five dedicated Apprentices Training Centres (ATCs), where both theory and practical skills are taught.
The Apprenticeship Ordinance 1962 is replaced by The Punjab Apprenticeship Act 2021, which expands coverage from industrial establishments to all sectors of the economy, including SMEs. Once fully enacted, the TEVTA Vocational Stream may shift entirely to the Apprenticeship Model.
Under the new framework:
All apprenticeship programs are implemented in accordance with TEVTA policies, The Punjab Apprenticeship Act 2021, The Punjab Apprenticeship Rules 2024, and PITB/GoP cybersecurity and data protection standards.
